Recycling Fact: Silver-tipped fluorescent tubes contain mercury, which has been identified as a Persistent Bioaccumlative Toxin (PBT). The proper handling of fluorescent tubes help reduce the mercury load that may be released to the environment; and reduces exposure that University staff and others may have if tubes are improperly disposed. |
